Jeremy is a native of Woodville, Alabama and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He graduated law school from the University of Iowa College of Law with High Distinction in 2007 and joined the firm shortly thereafter.
Jeremy has extensive experience representing purchasers, sellers and developers of commercial, industrial and residential real estate. Jeremy’s practice also includes the representation of landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions. Jeremy provides legal services and advice regarding real estate issues to a wide range of clients from small businesses and family farmers to utility companies, municipalities and publicly traded corporations. Jeremy routinely assists clients with all aspects of real estate acquisition, development and ownership including negotiating and drafting purchase agreements and option agreements, title examination, due diligence, land use and zoning issues, the subdivision of land, drafting and negotiating easement agreements, and quieting title to real estate when necessary. Jeremy also regularly assists clients with real estate and land use issues involving taxation and regulation of real estate including appeals of property assessments and the representation of individuals and businesses in eminent domain proceedings in the State of Iowa.
Jeremy also regularly represents creditors in Chapter 7, 11, 12 or 13 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. His clients include secured creditors, unsecured creditors, landlords under unexpired leases and vendors under executory contracts.
Jeremy resides in Sioux City with his wife Amelia and two sons.
