Mick was raised on the family farm outside of Decatur, Nebraska. As a result, he has strong roots in agriculture and understands well the many struggles and rewards of running a family business. His experience with agriculture and closely held family businesses provide him with a definite advantage in the estate planning field that he puts into practice for his clients.
He graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2006 and joined the Crary Huff firm shortly thereafter. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2002. He is admitted to practice law in Iowa and Nebraska.
Mick is passionate about estate planning because of the people. He enjoys getting to know his clients’ families, their businesses and their goals. Mick also has a background in litigation, which, along with his estate planning and administration skills, makes him uniquely qualified to handle estate disputes and challenges.
Mick is a member of the Nebraska State and Iowa State Bar Associations. He is a member of the Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law Sections of both Bar Associations. He is a member of the Siouxland Estate Planning Council and he served for 6 years on the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Iowa Bar Association and he is currently a member of the YLD’s Services to the Elderly Committee.
Mick resides in Sioux City with his wife and three children. His wife Kate is the principal at Sacred Heart Elementary School in Sioux City. Mick is a past President and current active member of the South Sioux City Kiwanis Club and he is a proud mentor with the Teammates mentoring program. Mick has passed his love for the farm to his children and rarely a week goes by that the Connealy family is not on the farm checking the corn, feeding the cattle and driving the tractors.
