Dan grew up on a farm in Hubbard, Nebraska and has always called Siouxland home. A 1981 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, College of Law, he also received his undergraduate degree there in 1978.

Dan has been a member of the firm since 1981 and has a general practice, including but not limited to, trial work in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, construction, employment and workers' compensation. He is a member of the Brain Injury Associations of Iowa and Nebraska.

Dan is a current member of the American (section of Tort and Insurance and Litigation), Federal, Iowa State, Nebraska State, Woodbury County and Dakota County Bar Associations, serving as president of the Dakota County Association in 1994. He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Iowa and Nebraska. He served on the board of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys from 1988-1996.

An active member of the South Sioux City community, Dan has served on the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce (chairman, 1997), South Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission and is member of the Cardinal Development Board. Dan, his wife Eileen and three children belong to St. Michael's Parish where he is a member of the Parish Council. He is also a member of the Catholic Charities board of directors. When he's not busy attending his children's activities, he finds time for golf and reading.
