Darrell Jesse Participates in A2J Pro Bono Program

Darrell Jesse has recently signed up to volunteer as a pro bono attorney for a non-profit corporation called “Access to Justice, Inc.” which is the official pro bono program of the State Bar of South Dakota.

The Access to Justice (A2J) pro bono program was designed to supplement services currently being provided by the two legal services programs in the state.

There are approximately 96,000 people living in poverty in South Dakota and 10 legal services attorneys in South Dakota who are responsible for providing legal assistance in core areas of law to low-income people in the state. A2J will help these individuals by referring some of the cases to lawyers who have volunteered to participate in the pro bono program. The following areas of law will be referred to pro bono attorneys: family law, consumer, education, housing, health, employment and wills and estates.
