Mike is a lifelong resident of South Sioux City, Nebraska. A 1991 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, College of Law, he received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State College in 1985. Prior to joining the firm in 1993, Mike served as a Deputy Dakota County Attorney and a probation officer for the State of Nebraska.

Mike was admitted to practice law in Nebraska in 1991, in Iowa in 1997 and South Dakota in 2004. He is chairperson of the Mental Health Board of the Sixth Judicial District of Nebraska. He maintains memberships in the Nebraska Association of Trial Lawyers, Nebraska State (Section of Government Practice) and the Iowa State (Section of Criminal Law Government Practice) Bar Associations. Mike is also a member of the Iowa Municipal Attorneys Association, Woodbury County and Dakota County Bar Associations. He served as president of the Dakota County Bar Association in 1998.

Mike's general practice includes, but is not limited to, criminal, municipal, personal injury, trial and bankruptcy law. He serves as the city attorney for Jackson, Nebraska; Castana, Iowa and Onawa, Iowa.

Mike is a member of both the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge. Mike spends free time motorcycling, running, fishing, hunting and boating with his children, Nicole and Jacob.
