Laura is a native of Lee's Summit, Missouri and came to Siouxland as a Morningside College student. After graduating with honors from Morningside in 1989, Laura went on to be named a Sterling Honor graduate at the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1994, where she also served as Editor-in Chief of the South Dakota Law Review.
Laura served a clerkship with the Honorable Donald E. O'Brien, U.S. District Court Senior Judge and was admitted to practice law in South Dakota in 1994 and Iowa in 1995. She joined the firm in 1999 and has a general practice, including but not limited to, corporate law, contracts, business law and commercial law.
She is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association (sections of Business Law, Commercial and Bankruptcy Law, Health Law and Commerce), the State Bar of South Dakota and the Woodbury County Bar Association.
Her husband, Tim, is a high school teacher and coach and they have two children, Truman and Turner. She volunteers with the Junior League of Sioux City. Laura spends her spare time attending athletic events with her family, scrapbooking and volunteering at her sons' school.
