Legal Notice
The determination of the need for legal services and the choice of a lawyer are extremely important decisions and should not be based solely upon advertisement or self-proclaimed expertise. This disclosure is required by rule of The Supreme Court of Iowa.
Electronic Mail (E-mail)
We welcome electronic mail (e-mail). Please be advised, however, that transmitting an email message to Crary, Huff, Inkster, Sheehan, Ringgenberg, Hartnett & Storm, P.C. (hereinafter "Crary Huff") through this web site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Crary Huff or any individual attorney. Due to technical problems, absences, or full workloads, it is possible that email to Crary Huff or a Crary Huff attorney would go unread for some time. Because deadlines are extremely important in most legal matters, you may lose important legal rights if you do not immediately and directly secure an attorney to advise you. Please note that no attorney-client relationship is created with Crary Huff absent an express agreement between Crary Huff and you.
It is important to remember that any email you send to Crary Huff may be intercepted by persons other than the intended recipient. Therefore, Crary Huff does not consider email communications to be a secure means of communication which is protected by the attorney-client privilege. As such, we advise you not to send any inquiry to Crary Huff that may be of a sensitive nature in which confidentiality would need to be maintained.
Privacy
Like other professionals who advise on personal financial matters, lawyers appear to be required by a new federal law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. Attorneys have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by this new law. Therefore, we have always protected your right to privacy.
In the course of providing our clients with income tax, estate tax and gift tax advice as well as being a settlement agent, we receive significant personal information from our clients. If you are a client of Crary, Huff, Inkster, Sheehan, Ringgenberg, Hartnett & Storm, P.C., you should know that all information that we receive from you is held in confidence, and is not released to people outside the firm, except as agreed to by you, or as permitted under an applicable law.
We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your professional needs and in, some cases, to comply with professional guidelines. In order to guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards.
