Dennis has an extensive family law practice in both Iowa and Nebraska and is a member of the family law sections of the bar associations of each state.
Dennis was one of the first attorneys in Siouxland to specialize in family law, handling cases involving divorce, valuation and division of business entities, professional practices and farming operations, child custody, alimony, child support, paternity and appeals to the Iowa and Nebraska Supreme Courts. Dennis works on both sides of the aisle, representing husbands, wives, fathers and mothers.
Dennis serves as a member of the Iowa Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Child Support Guidelines. As a result, Dennis frequently receives calls from other attorneys regarding the calculation of child support in the state of Iowa. Dennis has also served as a board member for the Council On Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence in Sioux City, and has worked diligently with clients both in securing and defending protective orders or no contact orders in both Iowa and Nebraska. Through his career, Dennis has been exposed to numerous family conflicts and scenarios, and is seldom surprised by any situation raised by his clients.
Dennis is also a family law mediator, and is on the current roster for mediations in the Third Judicial District of Iowa. With his extensive family law background, he mediates issues with families concerning custody of children, parenting plans, child support, alimony and division of family assets and debts.
